WE MADE it....the lone star state has welcomed us home.....I LOVE TEXAS....we are staying tonight in the hill country....so so beautiful....how lovely to be surrounded by this rich land that is teaming with history.....
Today we went to the Alamo.... we stood where brave men fought and died to secure freedom for Texas. Harley was appropriately in awe of this place...As we were leaving he asked me if I knew anyone that was that brave....I was proud to list the men and women, friends and family that have given themselves to keep our freedom. So to all of you who are brave and committed to maintaining and protecting our freedom I say Thank you from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet that is standing where we are remembering the Alamo.

  1. I finally got to catch up on your blog........I love it. Your descriptive word choice is lovely, even poetic. I loved this alamo blog, it made me tear up. Just talked to mom sounds like quite the fun adventure. one none of you will soon forget!! All your critters are doing great. one of your girls is slacking in the egg department though, two days now there have only been two eggs. Riley is having a great time. we play ball at least two times a day and he gets so excited when we show up. Neo is flying all over.....the chickens don't squawk at me I think I am the chicken whisperer. I feel like I need to buy myself some overalls and stick a piece of straw in my teeth every time I Do my "chores" at your house. Have a fantastic day in lafayette and checkin out the gators. Hugs to you all.

  2. Colleen, Wow... love hearing about the lizards, baby cow, and especially The Alamo! We are living vicariously through you guys having never been there so please keep up the blog!!! Can't wait to see a picture of Harley's boots and I'd love to see a picture of YOU, missy! That's what we're missing. I know you don't mind posing in front of some cool place for us =) How about helping out a BBQ chef with a big smooch on the cheek? That should make someone's day!! We miss you here but know you're having the time of your life!

  3. Colleen,

We got back from San Antonio and the Hill Country only six days before you were there. We fell in love with it, too. I am enjoying keeping track of ya' all on your journey. Thanks for taking out the time to write this blog.
